Februry Band of The Month-- Awful Truth

We're probably going to get sued for doing this....

Awful Truth, a four person punk band, was formed in 2005 in the sun-blasted urban wasteland of Tucson when local burnout Damon Pillsbury (guitar) recruited longtime friends James Roop (bass) and Dave Stine (vocals) to do something really stupid. The idea behind this ill-conceived venture was the desire of these social pariahs to play music that would be "truly awful" (hence the name). Eventually, Damon's brother Aaron was blackmailed into playing the drums, and the band began playing house parties, bars, all-ages venues, and even the occasional roadtrip through through the barren highways of rural Arizona. In 2008, the band released their debut album "Kill A Cop For God" to universal fanfare and acclaim, with many people considering it to be the greatest punk rock debut in the history of the universe. Surprisingly, they were sued only once and received only a few death threats and a judge's undying hatred (the band is still legally barred from using the original cover art). Undaunted, the band continued their wacky hi-jinks, often fishing without a license and drinking wine before it was time, until the 2011 release of their highly anticipated followup album "The Tucson Strangler." Here, one can hear the band's clear regression from "truly bad" to "even worse" as the band chose to plumb the depths of artistic indecency in an attemp to live up to the promise of their creed. Despite fistfights, drunken shenanigans, arrests, and general ostracism of their local community, Awful Truth continues to play their "music" anywhere that people who don't know any better will let them. Enjoy...
